Brief description of item
This one comes to you via fiona8532
Not many people will know what this is...Its a band called "BLITZKRIEG" & their one and only release via BRP records simply tilted "Survival" The band consisted of - David Yorath : vocals, guitar, David Levy : Bass guitar, Ian Wright : Keyboards, & Stephen Brown on Drums. These are not Blitzkrieg of the punk group or any other...These are "BLITZKRIEG" of Ellie Jay!
Manufactured by the infamous Ellie jay. Made in 1979. A very limited press of this album, perhaps only 100 units were ever made? How many are left today is anybody's wild guess?
Just to note : this is not a reproduction & is the real deal ORIGINAL. I have to say it's one of the most heavy set/produced rock albums you will ever hear...Kicks off on the opening side with "Survival" an air raid siren intro, then directly into some heavy laid guitar riff! what an opening track, one listen & your hooked. The next track "New Song" appears to be (from the lyrics) about contact with people from Saturn or Jupiter. This is more in a progressive rock style & influences could lean towards some of the famous Pink Floyds early works. "Julie" is a more laid back approach, while "Strangers" is just an all out rock assault. Great stuff from the A side. The B side follows on with some other superb tracks...Such a shame that this bands dreams probably never gained to the full fruits of their hard labour.
You will not be disappointed in the music or production...NICE & LOUD!!! a stereo pressing from this miniscule label...When will another ever turn up for sale anywhere...Answer = NEVER!!
The actual record is in nice all round shape, without any worrying flaws, has no warping and plays very, very well. Under extreme conditions only & when scrutinised there will be some thin hairline's...BUT nothing to spoil the fine listing pleasure of this rarer than rare album...There are NO skip backs, jumps, repetitive ticks or clicks. Just the slightest of background vinyl noise between changes. No ingrained dust or scratched surface marks....As good as it'll get for such a rare production.
The BRP labels are in excellent shape with only some spindle wear visable again under extreme bright white light. All text fully legible & no pre-owned handwritten names in ink or biro pen. The cover is in very good condition or excellent minus. Has one small knick on the back opening cover. No other imperfections. Just some slight laminate crease. No damp or dust, no smell or stains. Intact spine at the side with no splitting. All text is fully legible & all font and print still very bold. I keep the cover inside a hard plastic cover to keep it sturdy, the fragile nature of the original manufacture demands this be kept protected inside at all times. I also store the actual record outside of the main jacket & behind the cover, inside the protector.
So with all this said....Please see the large close up view below of all on offer. You will just not find another worldwide, thus the justified starting price with no reserve set.

>> Grading of Items All items are graded conservatively according to Record Collectors Grading System Record Collectors Grading system
Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable
Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
CD's and CASSETTES As a general rule CD's and Cassettes either play perfectly - inwhich case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CD's are difficult to grade visually; they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaces if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves
