Description

BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS_SELF-TITLED_AUDIOPHILE_LP_DIRECT DISK LABS_SD 16605_HALF-SPEED MASTER_SUPER DISK_GRAMMY’S 1970 ALBUM OF THE YEAR

This is an audiophile LP half-speed mastered by Direct Disk Labs for the 1969 Grammy winning "Album Of The Year" self-titled "Blood, Sweat & Tears".

Receiving 10 nominations, Blood, Sweat & Tears were the recipients of three awards.

Whether you’re a Rock, Pop or Jazz fan, this is an essential addition to any music fans library.

Listed in Robert Dimery’s book "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die", this album was produced by the renowned James William Guercio who also produced successful sessions for The Buckinghams and Chicago.

This album is as solid a listening experience. In a similar manner to albums by the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac or Tapestry, "Blood, Sweat & Tears" spawned a plethora of hit singles including "Spinning Wheel", "And When I Die" and "You've Made Me So Very Happy". Also from this album is the band’s excellent take on the Billie Holiday standard "God Bless The Child".

Showing their eclecticism, this includes material written by composer Erik Satie as well as a Traffic song by Steve Winwood.

The "Blood, Sweat & Tears" album was certified as a Platinum album eventually selling over 4 million copies in the U.S. alone.

Though the band had success prior and after this –their second album—"Blood, Sweat & Tears" shows the band at their creative and commercial best. Not simply a Pop or Rock album, this ranks among the elite of the Jazz/Rock genre.

The musicianship in this band was first-rate and comprised many members who were or would become successful in Jazz and Popular genres as a session player, arranger, producer and/or record label executive as well.

Track listing:

Side 1) Variations On a Theme By Erik Satie (1st & 2nd Movements), Smiling Phases, Sometimes In Winter, More & More, And When I Die, God Bless The Child

Side 2) Spinning Wheel, You’ve Made Me So Very Happy, Blues – Part II (Medley: Sunshine Of Your Love/Spoonful), Variation On A Theme By Erik Satie (1st Movement)

This Direct Disk Labs "Super Disk" audiophile LP pressing is housed in the same gatefold album jacket as originally released retaining all the original liner notes and graphics.

This item has been rarely handled – let alone played. The album jacket still has the shrink-wrap on it retaining the jacket’s original condition. Like wise, this LP is in immaculate condition.

Thanks for checking this long out of print audiophile LP pressing for the phenomenal self-titled album by Blood, Sweat & Tears. It’s appreciated!

Make certain to listed here on Ebay. It’s appreciated!
