BLOSSOM DEARIE: Blossoms On Broadway (US DRG, DARC-2-1105, 1979, 2-LP)
A lovely condition copy of this 1979 compilation of two Verve label LPs, Blossom Dearie Sings Comden And Green from early 1959 and Soubrette Sings Broadway Hit Songs from 1960. On the first LP you get a small jazz combo with BD playing piano as well as singing. On the second you get Russell Garcia and His Orchestra (rare for BD) and a production job (also rare for BD). It's all rather nice.
The sleeve is VG+ and the records sound and look barely played. Yesterday's test play is probably the second time I've played this since picking it up in about 1988 or so (having heard the LP of her at Ronnie Scott's) and it sounds as though the original owner probably only played it one or twice as well.
* * * * Records generally have hairline or other surface marks from removal from/insertion into sleeves - these are not mentioned unless causing audible noise. Records are play tested unless stated and any defects over and above what should be expected of the generic Record Collector grading are described in the listing. Please look at the photos carefully for condition of sleeves, etc.

* * * * All items are from my own various collections and most have been in storage for 20+ years. Lockdowns (and various heart ops.) made me wonder why I have thousands of records that I will never choose to listen to again.
