The Blue Nile don't headline at T in the Park
But to those who know, the band produce the most sublime, soul searching music, full of raw emotion yet meticulously crafted.
Although not the most prolific of groups, the Blue Nile are however, one of the most respected, not least amongst some of the most famous names in the music industry.
Released in 1981 on the RSO label, the band's first single I Love This Life sank from sight, along with the band , when RSO was absorbed into Polygram. The superb debut album A Walk Across The Rooftops did not emerge until 1984, initially only selling modestly. It was not until Hats was released in 1989 to rave reviews, earning a rare five star rating by Q magazine, that the band was recognised for its genius.
I am releasing from my collection an extremely rare Spanish edition of the band's first single, I Love This Life. As the songs from this have never been included in any album, copies are highly sought after. But try finding another copy of the Spanish edition. It is hard even to find a reference to it anywhere, never mind a copy of it. The condition of this record is good considering its age. There is light to moderate creasing on the sleeve, but no tears. The record itself shows light scuffing, but with little significant effect on the sound quality. I have included high resolution photos, so take a good look.
