Introducing JOHNNY GRIFFIN
Johnny Griffin (ts) Wynton Kelly (p) Curly Russell (b) Max Roach (d),
Rudy Van Gelder Studio, Hackensack, NJ, April 17, 1956 Original Blue Note Lp pressing, #1533, deep groove Lexington Ave address on the label, as well as the "ear" and "RVG in the dead wax, no "R" on the label, flat lip edge. Deep Grooved on both side. It has no ® under the "E" and Lexington Ave on each label.
The vinyl plays near mint, very light checking in the playing surface does not affect play, very little noticeable surface noise at all, sounds superb and near mint to the ears, only a few light ticks on the whole record, however it does look slightly less than near mint.
The cover has light ringwear on the front and on the back paste-on, which is also slightly yellowed or water stained along the spine on the paste-on. Light edge wear all around, no splits, corners are slightly rounded, VG+.
