_____ There is a fair amount of variety on this jam session LP. Organist Jimmy Smith plays "Summertime" in duet with altoist Lou Donaldson and, with guitarist Kenny Burrell and drummer Art Blakey completing the all-star quartet, performs swinging versions of "Yardbird Suite," "There's a Small Hotel" and Burrell's "All Day Long." This music will be enjoyed for generations to come by bop fans. Blakey is enthusiastic, Burrell is polished, Donaldson is soulful, and Jimmy is fresh and funky. That's all any listener needs to have a great time, because it's obvious that the musicians are. Nothing beyond the essential occurs, this session is simply a whole lotta fun.

Beautiful, phat old platter weighs 190 grams! With the 47 W63rd St NYC Address and MONO Labels. 'Inc.' and, 'R' on side one's label. However, side two does NOT have 'R' and 'Inc.' on it.
See the Pics below. This pressing has a Deep Groove, Ear, & RVG in the dead wax on EACH side. Factory sheen on clean vinyl surface is present. This LP carefully play-graded on a fine Plattenspieler, the BASIS 1400 with a BENZ-MICRO RUBY II cartridge and Mono-blocked Vandersteen Model 3A speakers.
