Description

This is the original UK LP by BLUR, PARKLIFE, 1993 1st Press on the FOOD label FOODLP 10. Bought of the 1st day of release April 25th 1993. The LP comes complete with it's original 1993 UK 1st issue inner sleeve. Stamped matrix numbers are,  SIDE 1:-  FOODLP 10-A-1-1-1,  SIDE 2:-  FOODLP 10-B-1-1-1.

The LP had several working titles, "Sport", "Soft Porn" or "Magic Arrows", Damon was heavily inspired by Martin Amis "London Fields" novel at the time of the writing process. They went for "Parklife" as the title of the LP, as they all enjoyed a night at the dog racers and thought a themed LP of this genre was ideal and was representive at least of one of their pastimes.

Bit of trivia - "Tracy Jacks" is no about a Transvestite. "Parrklife" is the only time Graham has played saxophone on a Blur record, and as everyone knows Actor Phil Daniels sings the verses, classix birt pop track. "To The End" features Laetitia Sadier from Stereolab on the French spoken section. "Lot 105" comes fromthe Hammond organ Damon played and aquired at an auction for £150.00. Graham thought of the one line in the song "18 times a week, girl, ha ha ha ha ha".

The original 1993 UK very 1st issue cover is in Near MINT condition, beautifully clean and fresh, maintaining all its original bright vibtant colour. Their is no unwanted writing and no seam splits, the spine is in perfect condition, broad, clean, fresh and perfectly readable. The only thing stopping tis STUNNING cover from being MINT is the bottom 2 corners shows a tiny bit of wear, very minimal.

The vinyl is in EX+++ / Near MINT condition, gleaming!, barely played!, I have played the vinyl, both sides once (very carefully!) and the vinyl plays SUPERBLY!, STUNNING AUDIO!, playing with crisp clear clarity, the quality of the mastering and stereo sound is SUBLIME!.

The label's are in MINT condition!, beautfully clean and fresh, no wear.

The original 1993 UK 1st issue inner sleeve is in EX+++ condition, again beautifully clean and fresh, their is no unwnated writing, and only one 6cm seam split to the left hand seam, in the middle, no other seam splits.

Altogether a ABSOLUTELY STUNNING COPY OF CLASSIC BRIT-POP LP!, your be hard-pushed to find a better copy!
