Totally STUNNING and dope Italian Library gem by the cult maestro Bruno Nicolai and very very underrated album. Outstanding Eastern and Exotic music production and suprisingly one of the best oriental themed Library albums out there. Easily some of the greatest Exotic moods and Oriental/Asiatic deeply inspired score music surely composed for some obscure mid '70s documentary on the Great Wall of China. Majestic Exotica-sound filled with tons of knitted percussions and refined beats, panoramic score music and Eastern Classical studio orchestrations. Very trippy jam where Nicolai paints his portrait of Asia as a primal place of mystery, avoiding the classic oriental-melody approach of so many other compositions common to Western Exotica and Library albums. Here we have something different, a sort of a cross between EMANUELLE soundtracks and Nicolai's Thriller masterworks like TUTTI I COLORI DEL BUIO or MARQUIS DE SADE'S. Timeless, languid vibes recalling opium effects, night woods and drifting down dark rivers. The result, is an insanely good piece of maestro Nicolai's Library music with magycal atmospherics. The lively beats of "ASSAM" with melanchonic refrain and then moody tempo changes with pressed deep sounds, the infectious exotic percussions of "CIAM" with Bamboo Flute, esoteric stoned beats on "AKA", and the reflective "SHAN" with its trippy mellow sounds. More mystical atmospheres on rest of the album. Absolutely dope Italian Library LP!
