Description

The database st Discogs isn't exactly sure when this Bo Diddley reissue was pressed, but these light blue labels are from the late 1960s. Thankfully they embraced the fantastic original 1962 cover!

This may look like a mono recording, but it's actually in the most wigged-out stereo you'll ever hear. Stereo was very new and the engineers went nuts on this one, pan-potting the vocals from left to right and back again, just because they could. Headphone listeners may end up clinging to their ceilings.

The music? It's great. The first cut, "Ben," isn't even famous but it should be...it's a classic tall tale about an indestructible but accident-prone man: "Once he fell from a aeroplane/Hit the ground laughing like a man insane" I won't give away the punchline though. Every song's a classic!

VG++ on the vinyl, which has inaudible paper scuffs on side two, and really minimal surface noise audible on the silent grooves only. The sleeve is VG+ as you can see here, just a little ringwear and very nice edges. The corner is clipped as I guess it was a remainder 50
