Summary: In 1962 Phil Spector, Los Angeles Phillies record label owner & music producer rearranged Disney’s 1946 academy award song, Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah using recording engineer, Larry Levine with the wall of sound orchestra adding singers Bobby Sheen, Fanita James and Darlene Love ( Bob - B - Soxx and the Blue Jeans). As an R&B platter Zip-A-Dee Doo-Dah wound up at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the US and landed at #45 on the UK singles chart for the year 1963.
DJ-edition: This radio auditioning copy was sent to a radio station for airplay to generate a buzz (sales) prior to store release -very 1st copies hot of the press aren’t always the best pressings - but they are the first heard and not for sale-the non white label copies are rare and scarce because dj's didn't treat records with enough respect to recycle. As a former broadcaster I could tell one 2 many tales of chaos with abuse in the KAOS music library before John Foster (OP magazine-Lost Music Network) became a paid staff member as music librarian which ended chaos and abuse by introducing the green-line policy. A minimum of 70% or more for indies label air time as oppose to major labels and filing the records in the music library instead of piling them on a desk at the end of a shift.
