BOB DARIN - COMMITMENT

Lovely condition, eminently presentable and long deleted 1969 UK 1st press folk/rock/country rarity, direct from the legendary BBC record archive

Year/Label : 1969 UK BELL Label number : SBLL 128 Matrix numbers : SBLL 128 A -1 G, SBLL 128 B - 1 G Stampers :  1 G  /  1 R
Excellent (EX) condition vinyl -  glossy, completely flat and weighty with no scratches or obvious hairlines or scuff marks. Close inspection under a bright light reveals just the occasional very, very light paper scuff and a couple of small areas on each side of the circumference of the record where the otherwise jet black glossy sheen has faded a little - all very trivial and not impinging at all upon the wonderful stereo audio quality.  Excellent (EX) condition labels with just a couple of very small and very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label. Each label has the BBC stamp (see photos) which, for me, is the official mark of 1960/70's authenticity and only adds to the collectability of these prized LP's.  I find it difficult to grade the condition of the original outside laminated outer sleeve and I do urge you to look at my photos carefully. All edges are firm and unscuffed, including a near perfect and rigid spine, and the cover remains in overall great condition and a highly presentable state. It has two hole punches towards the left side to which a further "loose" gatefold polythene sleeve has been attached with a 9.5cm x 20cm sticker attached to the outside of this polythene sleeve on the front side, along with a smaller sticker to the top left, and two further stickers on the reverse side. There is also a further vertical sticker affixed to the front-side original laminate adjacent to the opening edge. With care I am sure these stickers are removeable though the latter sticker on the original laminate may prove a bit more tricky. But my view is why would anybody want to remove any of these stickers? For me they form an intrinsic component in the rich 54 year old story covering the origin and journey of this LP, which undoubtedly includes the handling of this record by BBC disc jockey luminaries such as John Peel, Paul Gambiccini, and Anne Nightingale to name but three. What a conversation piece! This LP was once part of what is generally agreed to have been the greatest record collection on earth - these stickers authenticate and rubber stamp that, and for that reason I for one would never want to remove them!   Excellent plus (EX+) stereo audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, distortion, interference or background crackle. Crystal clear stereo sound quality throughout - clearly this is a record that has been sparingly played, with each and every track a great listen.  Comes with original polythene "BBC RETURN RECORD TO SLEEVE" inner. Note that I always ship in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.    Long deleted, hard to find and the wonderful stereo audio quality is a true highlight.
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £4 using Royal Mail tracked 48;

for continental Europe £11 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £17 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 54 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
