ADVERTISING SERPIER SLEEVES!

A TRUE ARCHIVE COPY FOR DYLAN AUDIOPHILES OUT THERE! 43 YEARS OLD LIKE THIS!!

Another from my personal collection! Arguably one of the rarest Bob Dylan albums to ever find in this condition! Unbeleivably genuine 43 years old and in truly awesome top condition, both the vinyls  and cover, what makes this so rare is that this is the earliest 1st UK original ((((mono))) pressing and barely ever played !,, in fact the vinyls looks only played a handful of times in my opinion! (Any spider marks can even be counted on one hand!      The vinyls have  always been stored in a case with the vinyl seperated from the cover for protection the way that i have always stored my records! I have play tested the album one time, prior to this listing at very loud volume, on a top system, using a dedicated mono cartridge.  The audio is awesome throughout in my opinion with just very minimal interfearance in the form of just light static crackle\ticks (not consistant throughout the audio and nothing that detracted from, the overall awesome audio experiance i have graded at least excellent to excellent plus overall!!!  This can not be surpassed by any stereo format! This original mono pressing is stunning absolutely real rich and vibrant clarity ! A real collectors copy for any true Dylan audiophiles out there!

An awesome top copy very earliest mono original!

Blonde on Blonde is American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan's seventh studio album, released May 1966 by Columbia Records in the US and on CBS records in the UK!!.

The album is believed to be the first significant double album in rock music, its length forcing it to two LPs. It is notable for injecting Dylan's brand of blues rock, fully established on Highway 61 Revisited, with a more eclectic sound and even more surreal lyrics. It also marked the end of an era for Dylan, who would soon be involved in a motorcycle accident, significantly changing his musical approach!!!.

Recorded in Nashville, the album was produced by Bob Johnston!!

At least some of the tracks that make up Blonde on Blonde are known to be about Dylan's then-wife, Sara Lownds, and other tracks on the record are widely believed to have been influenced by his relationships with Warhol model Edie Sedgwick and musician Joan Baez. Dylan was romantically involved with all three women until just before his secret marriage to Lownds in November 1965!!

The track "Sara" from Dylan's 1976 album Desire features the line, "Staying up for days in The Chelsea Hotel/Writing 'Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands' for you". In addition to the similarity between the word "Lowlands" and his wife's previous married name Lownds, it seems that the final track on Blonde on Blonde was inspired by his Sara!..

The cover of Blonde on Blonde features Dylan before a brick building, wearing a heavy button-up winter coat along with a black and white checkered scarf. He would again be seen wearing the coat on the covers of his next two records, John Wesley Harding and Nashville Skyline.

The original inside gatefold featured a photograph of the Italian Tunisian-born actress Claudia Cardinale that was used without her permission. Some critics at the time questioned if the photo was of Dylan himself in drag. From 1968 onward, Cardinale's photo was removed from all American pressings of the album, making copies of the record sleeve featuring the actress an out-of-print collector's item. However, some non-U.S. pressings of the album continue to use Cardinale's picture!!.

Other people featured in the photos on the inner gatefold include Dylan, his manager Albert Grossman, photographer Jerry Schatzberg, and Lady Sandra Suffolk. There is also a photo of an unidentified young woman whispering into Dylan's ear; some fans believed for a while that the woman was Edie Sedgwick, but recent research has suggested that it is most likely not the Factory actress!!

Blonde on Blonde has been released on nearly every music format in existence, including vinyl, 8 track, cassette, compact disc, and MP3. However, there are many different mixes of the album (no fewer than eleven), with marked differences in sound mixes and track times. In addition, at least one European market saw the album originally released as two single LPs. To date, no single version has been cited by Dylan as canonica!!

The Vinyl

These are the original earliest thick and chunky type of vinyls with deeper grooves (only found like this on the original 1st UK mono pressings) The vinyls lay perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping!

On initial inspection, these vinyls look awesome  It is quite obvious that these vinyls have barely ever been played ! Only in strong light could possibly any sleeve removal marks\scuff marks be possibly seen only. (Just light surface marks) (Which have very little if no adverse effect on the awesome audio quality that I could hear)

The Audio Quality

I have played these vinyls track for track one time only, at very loud volume on a top system using a dedicated mono cartridge! The audio is absolutely awesome on my system! cristal clear and very very vibrant indeed! Importantly there is (no) signs of any distortion or that this has been overplayed what so ever any interfearance that may be heard is very minimal and nothing that detracts from the awesom audio experiance in my opinion! (No) loud clicks or pops! during the audio!  just the odd very light static tick\crackle in some quiet places and perhapes in between some tracks on the run off grroves!   Please note! I also own a copy of the 1st press stereo edition of this album and there is no comparison in my opinion!! (MONO) this is the only way to hear this album! Certainly the most sought after and incredibly rare to ever find in this awesome top top condition! I would grade the overall audio as at least excellent to excellent plus!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd light static tick\crackle (not) consistant throughout the audio! Please remember that this is a genuine 43year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 43year old system! (CRISTAL CLEAR AND VIBRANT THROUGH OUT WITHOUT DISTORTION!! )

Points to note! This has been stored in a case for over 30 years and a build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static ticks\crackle! A constant clean before each play is highly recomnended! This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality!

The Labels

These are the 1st issue CBS (TEXTURED ) mono labels! These are awesome! Please note only 1st issue l;abels feature ''33'' on the labels (later issues feature 331/3) and only 1st issue labels are textured! I can barely see any spindle marks even in strong light, any that can be seen can be counted on one hand! Try to find anything like this after 43 years!!! Unbeleivable!!

The Record Sleeves

These are the original Orange CBS advertising serpier  sleeves (no) splits or tares just very light creasings. Rare to find like this totally original!

The cover

This is the 1st issue Garrod & Lofthouse internal flipback gatefold cover! laminated front only! Absolutely stunning super super glossy appearance! This is in absolutely stunning top condition! Amaizingly,  No splits or tares and (no) real storageware worth to mention! Very very near pristine in my opinion (only being highly critical can very light laminate surface rubbing be noticed if looked for but you have to look hard to notice This is truely exceptional This top copy must grade at least excellent plus to very (very) near pristine in my opinion!

An awesome very collectable copy, beleive me and the rarest and most sought after with unbeleivable top mono audio!!,,
