I have rated this album as Excellent using the following grade descriptions which are based on the Goldmine Standard Record Grade Scale.

STILL SEALED (SS) Never opened; still sealed in cellophane.

MINT (M) Opened, but doesn’t look like it was ever used. Record and cover are perfect.

NEAR MINT (NM OR M-) Nearly perfect—looks like the album has been handled or played only a few times. Records are shiny, with no visible defects and are very clean. The label will be unblemished and in perfect condition and there won’t be any “spindle marks” at the center hole. If played, there will be no surface noise. Near mint covers are free of creases, ring wear, rub spots, seam splits, punch holes, etc. Cover images and colors will be clear and bright. Will show almost no handling or storage wear of any kind.

EXCELLENT (E) Less than nearly perfect, but not much less. Only minor surface wear seen; perhaps one or two light scratches or scuffs seen but nothing that affects the listening quality. A few marks around the center hole. Use seen in the label but no significant loss of color, no marks, only a tiny bit of soiling. No significant surface noise beyond the light hiss or pop of all vinyl records that have been played more than five or so times. No skips or slides heard. The cover will show only the lightest soiling, may have slight creasing, a few rub spots, minor edge wear, the lightest of wear to the corner.

VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) The same as excellent except there might be slight warping that will not affect the sound. A little more signs of use as far as soiling and maybe a few more light scratches and scuffs, but still nothing to affect the listening quality. Some telltale marks around the center hole. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration to the label, but it should be barely noticeable. A VG+ cover may have minor wear such as light ring wear, a bit heavier creasing and more rub spots, edge wear, seam wear, there may be a split (less than one inch long), there may be a punch hole, and there may be some soiling and some defacing, such as a cut-out marking.

VERY GOOD (VG) The record will have evident surface wear--most of the gloss will be lost, groove wear will be evident on sight and there may be numerous scratches that might be able to be seen and felt. Spindle wear will be evident, there might be writing, a sticker or marks on the label. Soiling and finger prints will be evident. When played, a VG record will have surface noise; noticeable hissing and popping, perhaps a slight slip on a word, perhaps a tiny skip in a song or two, but nothing that detracts from or overpowers the music otherwise or overall. VG covers will have many signs of human handling. Some soiling, perhaps some browning along the edges from age, storage wear along the edges, corner wear, ring wear in the middle or along the edges of the cover where the edge of a record would reside, will be obvious, though not overwhelming. Some more creases might be visible. Seam splitting will be more obvious; it may appear on all three sides, though it won’t be obvious upon looking. Someone might have written or it or stamped a price tag on it, too.

on all sides, more significant damage such as heavy creasing or a corner may be gone and mildewing will be evident but not heavy on more than one side.
