BOB DYLAN, Blonde on Blonde, unusual sleeve/crossover labels, early UK CBS stereo LP.

SDDP 66012, early ‘crossover’ UK CBS orange stereo record labels.

An early UK stereo issue in original condition, featuring:

1. very unusual early printed, ‘smaller stereo logo’ sleeve, I've not seen another copy like this !. See the comparison photo, comparing it to a 'regular', 'larger stereo logo' sleeve,

2. very early 'flip back' sleeve, ie 'fold over' edges, seen to the top and bottom edges when the 'gate fold' sleeve is opened,

3. the track title, ‘Stuck inside of mobile with the Memphis blues again’, has been mis printed. On the sleeve and on the record label this track appears as just, ‘Stuck inside of mobile with thee’, and the word ‘the’ has been mis printed as, ‘thee’,

4. unusual ‘crossover’ record labels, as:

a. side one of the record label features the earliest text of ‘just’, ‘33’, and the track listing is printed in the earliest, ‘San Serif’ font,

b. sides two, three and four of the record labels feature the text of, ‘33’ still in the original earliest, ‘larger and bolder’ text font, but show ‘33 1/3’, and the track listing is printed in the, ‘Roman’ font,

5. each record label features a ‘textured’ surface,

6. earliest UK stereo record matrix of, ‘SDDP 66012 A1’, ‘SDDP 66012 C1’, SDDP 66012 D1, side two features, ‘SDDP 66012 B2’,

7. comes with its two original period, ‘CBS’ advertising inner sleeves.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in overall very good+ condition, the front and rear of the sleeve is laminated. The rear panel of the sleeve has some ‘marks’ to the laminate, so I will grade this as in near very good condition. The spine is in very good++ condition, it has remained clean and strong and all of the text on the spine is readable. When the ‘gate fold’ sleeve is opened the original UK early issue ‘flip backs’, ie ‘fold over’ edges, seen top and bottom can be seen. When the ‘gate fold’ sleeve is opened the inside of the sleeve has remained very clean for its age. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue to the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVES: comes with its two original period ‘CBS’ orange advertising inner sleeves. One inner sleeve is in very good++ condition, there is a split to one of the side edges and a slight split to the bottom edge. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stickers or sticker residue to this inner sleeve. The other inner sleeve is in very good+ condition, there is a slight split to one of the side edges and a slight split to the bottom edge. Theres NO pen writing, tears stickers or sticker residue to this inner sleeve.

THE RECORDS: record one, side one and side two is in very good condition. Record two, side three is in very good condition and side four is in very good+ condition. The records are made from the period, 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The records have remained dark and glossy.

The records matrix are: record one, side one, SDDP 66012 A1, also the numbers of, ‘932’, I think it is, are engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove. Side two, SDDP 66012 B2, also the numbers of ‘3921’, I think it is, are engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove.

Record two, side three, SDDP 66012 C1, also the numbers / letters of, ‘OD13’, I think it is, are engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove. Side four, SDDP 66012 D1, also the numbers / letters of ‘OZ1’, I think it is, are engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove.

THE AUDIO: record one, side one, about halfway through the first track there is a ‘skip’ and a short period of ‘distortion’ for a few seconds and four ‘ticks’, so I will grade the audio here as 'good'. The rest of track one plays very good+ with some light ‘crackle’ and light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. The rest of side one plays very good+ with some light ‘crackle’ and light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. Side two, at the very end of track four, the track ‘sticks’ and has some ‘distortion’, so I will grade the audio here as ‘fair’. The rest of track four plays very good+ with some light ‘crackle’ and light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. The rest of side two plays very good+ with some light ‘crackle’ and light ‘ticks’ heard here and there.

Record two, side three, about halfway through track two there is some ‘distortion’, this only lasts for a few seconds, so I will grade the audio here as 'good'. The rest of track two plays very good+ with some light ‘crackle’ and light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. The rest of side three plays very good+ with some light ‘crackle’ and light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. Side four plays very good+, it plays with some light ‘crackle’ and light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. Each record plays with a full powerful, period stereo sound. Each record lays flat on the turntable.

THE RECORD LABELS: record label one is in excellent+ condition. Record label two is in excellent condition. Record labels three and four are in excellent+ condition. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
