Bob Dylan released his seventeenth album "Desire" in January 1976 on Columbia Records. It carries a 1975 copyright date and it is often erroneously referred to as a 1975 release but it wasn't actually released until January 5, 1976. It contains the track "Hurricane" which is widely regarded as helping getting boxer Rubin "Hurricane" Carter's murder conviction overturned. It was one of Dylan's most successful studio albums and spent five weeks at No. 1 on the charts.

This copy (PC 33893) is from the first pressing at the Columbia Records plant in Santa Maria, Calif. It is still in its original factory shrink wrap and along with the card stock picture inner sleeve is easily VG+. The disc plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. The dead wax on Side 1 is stamped with AL 33893-3B S1.

In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.

This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 44 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
