This is one of a series of rare or sealed LPs and EPs that I will be listing over the next several weeks. 

This auction is for the vinyl LP pressing of Bob Dylan’s Love and Theft album, a 2-LP set released in 2001.  I have been a huge Dylan fan since the early 70s (I can remember going to the store and buying the Greatest Hits vol 2 album when I was about 11 years old…) and have bought his new releases faithfully ever since.  I actually liked the three Christian albums from 1979 through 1982, and I thought the next few releases were pretty good as well.  As the 90’s rolled around, though, I was not crazy about his turn to traditional folk recordings on World Gone Wrong and Good As I Been To You.  So as the 1997 album Time Out of Mind neared release, I was not expecting much.  But that album, this follow up and his most recent album Modern Times are of a piece as a trilogy, and they are each really very, very good.  This album features twelve tracks on two albums, and both the songs and the sound are terrific.  One of the reasons that this album will always remain in my mind is that it was released on September 11, 2001, and I had actually purchased it the night before on my way home from work.  I had intended to listen again that morning, but heard the news of the attack before I left home so I tuned instead to the local news radio station.

Both the vinyl and the cover are in excellent condition, as shown in the photo.

I am not a dealer, and all of the items I place up for auction are from my personal collection gathered over the past forty years (education expenses – and soon-to-be college expenses -- are the reason I am selling my collection...).  Shipping and handling is determined by weight and is per record, not per title.  The shipping costs are as follows: $4.00 for one record via media mail to anywhere in the U.S.   Each additional record is $0.35 in addition for media mail shipping.  Priority shipping within the U.S. is a function of weight and postal zone, and in my post-auction invoice, I will e-mail to you the cost of priority (I can also provide you with the info, if you e-mail me your zip code and the record(s) you are interested in).  Insurance through the USPS and delivery confirmation through the USPS are available – once again, my post-auction invoice will provide the basic information.  If you are overseas or in Canada, the two basic types of shipping are 1st Class International (less expensive) and Priority International (more costly but slightly faster) which are also a function of weight and distance.  I will provide the cost for each option in my post-auction invoice (and, again, I can provide you with the info, if you e-mail me your zip code and the record(s) you are interested in).  I will always combine items, so that your shipping costs will be more manageable.  Payment can be made by paypal, U.S. Postal Service money orders, bank money orders or bank checks, by personal check in U.S. Dollars (if you have more than 50 positive feedback entries, and personal checks must clear before item is shipped), or in cash in U.S. Dollars.  If I do not receive payment for an item within twenty (20) days of the end of the auction and/or I do not hear from you in response to follow-up e-mails, I will consider the auction results void and relist the item(s) for auction.   Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail me through My Messages in eBay.
