Self Portrait was Dylan's second "double album"
and features many cover versions of well-known
pop and folk songs.

Our listing only includes Disc one, but is notable
for having radio timing strips, making this a
promotional copy: The timing strip reads,
in addition to providing exact intro. time and
length of each cut,

this despite the labels being "stock"
360 Sound STEREO ("Two-Eye") labels.
Also included are a handful of instrumentals
and original compositions, many on missing disc 2.
Most of the album is sung in the affected
"country crooning" voice that Dylan had introduced
a year earlier on Nashville Skyline.
Seen by some fans and critics as intentionally
"surreal" and even satirical at times, "Self Portrait"
received extremely poor reviews.
Bob Dylan has stated in interviews that this album
was something of a joke, far below the standards
he set in the 1960s, and was made to get people
off his back and end the "spokesman of a generation"
reputation the press foisted on him.
Disc A side dead-wax runout areas
have ETCHED matrix numbers:

Visually graded vinyl looks strong clean VG
with some finger felt marks, light surface
scratches on both sides, but mainly side A.
Labels are clean with "step" pressing ring
on both sides. There are numerous light spindle marks.
We gave a full play-grading of both sides of disc 1.
Again, Disc 2 IS NOT INCLUDED - but easy enough
for you, the customer, to find a proper copy
that matches disc 1. The sound is crisp and clear,
with light to moderate crackle on side 1, and
lighter, random unobtrusive crackle on side 2.
Mostly easy to ignore and unobtrusive.
Sometimes a bit louder, as on "YEARS OF 49". 
Gatefold jacket is strong VG and TEXTURED.
Promo timing strips have shelf/bin wear.
Hype sticker has light wear.
The spine and seams have bits of splitting and wear.
The corners are worn. Outer laminate(s),
the visible portions, have light wear.
Spine is flattened from years of storage,
and NOT perpendicular to the jacket.
Back timing strip has previous owner's name.
Some parts of edges have light fraying.
INSIDE gatefold panels look EXCELLENT.
No notch or drill hole.
