This is an original UNITED KINGDOM first pressing of CATCH A FIRE the MASTERPIECE debut album by THE WAILERS featuring the GENIUS of BOB MARLEY. This fantastic LP was released here in the UK in 1973 and as you see it comes in a magnificent ZIPPO lighter flip top sleeve. Also present is the correct blue ISLAND POLLY LINED inner sleeve. Because of the movable articulated nature of the sleeve many of these that show up have sustained damage to the mechanism. This sleeve is in particularly good order and the hinge mechanism is in perfect working condition. The front of the sleeve is beautiful with no fading. There is a slight crease to the right side of the top of the lighter double click the pictures but it has not spoiled the appearance of the cover. The back of the sleeve has a light crease to the top right, a tiny one top left and a very light one bottom right but this sleeve still looks fabulous. The spine is in EXCELLENT condition and all spinal writings can be read crystal clear. Because the sleeve is so bright and clean it grades as NEAR EXCELLENT.
Side A of the vinyl gleams like mirror. STUNNING. Its very hard to find fault with this side of the vinyl it looks unplayed. Only when held up towards a bright spot light you have to search to find the very lightest hairlines that were put there from removing the record from its inner sleeve. And I can see no spindle trails to the ORIGINAL PINK RIM ISLAND LABEL not a blemish. Beautifully bright and clean.LOVELY. Lovely condition.
Side B also glows with the deepest highest luster possible indicating a total lack of usage or a very very careful owner. Again the ORIGINAL PINK RIM ISLAND
label if totally flawless and as bright and clean as the day it was made. This side also has the very very lightest hairlines but you have to really search to find these . This record is in amazing condition for its 45 years . I am happy to grade the record as a EXCELLENT PLUS. And it plays without a problem all the way through. REGGAE music is a worldwide phenomena and it is still growing..... I have been watching REGGAE records closely for about 10 years now and they have been rising steadily and are finally starting to get something like the prices that reflects something like their rarity. So a rare find in tip top condition like this has to command strong demand So I would be ready for late bidders !!!
