PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE BUYING THIS LP
VINYL was pulled from a well kept collection, but for some reason this one had a NASTY edge warp. I have a Vinyl Flat that I am very confident using after several years, and tried to tackle it. After a couple of normal sessions the edge warp was not playable so I geared it up, knowing darn well it could damage the playing surface. I got it pretty close to being playable, and right now the whole lp plays fine except for the opening track on side 1. The vinyl is flat now but when it has a large wave it in, when it gets smushed down the grooves sometimes do not line up straight, which is the case here. Now you have to realize I have a very nimble turntable and the first couple of tracks still get the headshell doing some lateral "shimmying". On top of that the surface did take a hit...it has a "melted" look to it but it really does not affect the sound or the grooves much...I just listened to most of it and it plays VG+ to EX. If you are industrious with a Vinyl Flat or have another technique you might be able to get more out of it than I did, but I would not count on it. A cool early Marley recording a fraction of the price (one Maroon copy sold this past summer for $369).
ULTRASONIC CLEANED -- I just cleaned it on my new Ultrasonic Record cleaner, and put it in a fresh sleeve. It really does make a difference in the sound quality....it gets rid of stuff other methods just can't tackle....I am hooked! Ready to enjoy for years to come.
COVER is VG....Minor wear with a 3" seam split on the bottom open edge....I did some light blue touch up to the seams....see photos
