The Wailers released an album titled 'Catch A Fire' nearly FIFTY years ago, in 1973. The album was completed, and released in Jamaica. The original lineup of The Wailers featured Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Family Man Barrett, Carly Barrett, Rita Marley, and Marcia Griffiths. (RIP Bob, Peter, Bunny, and Carly. You were the true pioneers of reggae music, and will never be forgotten. We miss you all!)

Marley, of course, went on to become reggae's biggest international star, but this original, Jamaican version was credited to simply The Wailers. The original cover had a hinge that opened and closed, like a Zippo lighter. Only 20,000 copies were made, then production stopped, due to the high cost of adding the hinges. That original album was changed by Island Record's Chris Blackwell, and a different version was released to the world, this time credited to Bob Marley and the Wailers. Another cover was also created, (with Marley smoking a big spliff), in place of the Zippo lighter jacket.

In 2001, a deluxe edition of that Reggae masterpiece was released, with BOTH versions! It comes with TWO discs, one which is the original, Jamaican version, and the second disc is the commercial release that the rest of us got. The original has two more tracks than the commercial release has. It also added a very cool booklet, with song titles and credits, lyrics, and TONS of awesome color pics!

Seventeen years later, in 2018, yet another format was released. This vinyl version not only restored the hinge Zippo lighter jacket, (which that artwork was used on the deluxe edition), it also came out on SMOKE colored vinyl! Like ganja smoke is swirled between the two layers of vinyl! An amazing and incredible Bob Marley and the Wailers' collectible double shot, with the smoke colored vinyl, and the deluxe edition two CD set! (So you don't have to play your vinyl! But you can, and it will sound great!)

The vinyl looks new, and is still all shiny and clean! I cannot vouch for the sound, as I never  play specialty vinyl, such as picture discs or colored records. But a visual inspection shows that it looks fantastic! The jacket is also awesome, and opens and closes like it should. The two CDs look new, and are still all shiny and clean! The case and slipcover look great, and the booklet is immaculate!
