Description

Here is a collection of eight LPs spanning the career of Bob Marley & The Wailers that I’ve collected over the years.

These are not typical Marley LPs seen up for auction--they’re rare first pressings, made in Jamaica, color vinyl, etc.   

1) The Best of Bob Marley and The Wailers on Studio One, made in Jamaica (probably 80’s pressings with Coxsone’s NY distribution info)

Vinyl: VG+ (a few light marks on side 2)

Cover: VG+>+ (some light shelf wear, no splits, small writing on back)

2) Catch A Fire on Island—Rare 1973 first US pressing with legendary lighter cover!

Vinyl: VG+ (a few light marks)

Cover: VG (corner wear, writing on front, large chip off front, detached at hinge, hole punch at top corner)

3) Burnin’ on Island, 1973 first US pressing, gatefold cover

Vinyl: VG (light marks throughout)

Cover: VG (corner wear, writing on front, chip off back bottom, bottom split)

4) Early Music on Calla, 1977 first US pressing (not the later, more common Epic pressing)

Vinyl: VG+>+ (some very light marks that probably do not affect play)

Cover: VG++ (super clean, no writing, no splits)

5) Exodus on Tuff Gong, made in Jamaica (recent pressing)

Vinyl: VG++ (no marks, but typical JA pressing)

Cover: VG++ (clean, no writing, no splits)

 6) Survival on Tuff Gong, made in Jamaica--rare first JA pressing on dark red vinyl, with lyric insert!

Vinyl: VG (marks throughout, nothing deep and typical JA pressing)

Cover: VG+ (some shelf wear, light writing on back, start of spine split)

 7) Uprising on Tuff Gong, made in Jamaica (recent pressing)

Vinyl: VG+ (a couple light marks, but typical JA pressing)

Cover: VG++ (clean, no writing, no splits)

8) Confrontation on Rita Marley Music—rare first press, made in Jamaica

Vinyl: VG+ (a couple light marks, but typical JA pressing)

Cover: VG+ (clean, no writing, start of spine and bottom split)
