BOB MARLEY
RARE SHELTER PROMO

Now here's a potentially rare Bob Marley item. This promo 45 of 'Duppy Conqueror' (shown here as 'Doppy Conquer') is on Shelter Records, not Island as all the other Marley releases in the early '70s were. It is from October of 1971 and sounds to be a completely different version than the song as it appears on the '73 album 'Burnin' I suspect this might be the original release of the song as it appeared on 45 back in December of '70, since the stock copies had the Upsetters on the flipside.

This was the only release Shelter ever had on Marley and if you want to hear it check it out on the 1st CD of the Songs Of Freedom box set. This was recorded in '69/'70 at Randy's Studio 17 and was produced by Lee Perry.

CONDITION: NEAR MINT! Same song on both sides, both in stereo.
