Description
BOBBY & THE VELVETS
I Promised
When it comes to Dallas, Texas group sound records, there are few that are more desirable, or easier on the ear than this one. Bobby & The Velvets were likely a North Dallas group, probably a high school one at that. They sure do sound young on this record.
"I Promised" has a great teen vocal from Bobby (Sanders?), with the Velvets doowop-ing in the background. The single is on the little Rason Records label and is flipped wit "Now We Know."
In 30 some years digging up Dallas records, I've only had this one twice. You can only imagine how tuff it is to find one this clean.
