Description
Up for auction is a nice copy of the Booker Ervin album "The Space Book" originally released on Prestige Records ( PR 7386) in 1965.

Note: The mono pressings of this album are far superior to the more common re-channeled stereo pressings--there's really no comparison!
Condition: The cover is in very nice condition, with only minor signs of age and handling. Front cover looks glossy and clean, with only a small spot of separation in the lamination on the right edge near opening (see photo). Seams are strong, intact, no splits. Corners are sharp, not bumped, with just a small amount of rubbing. Back cover looks clean, original bone white--no writing, no pen marks, but shows some minor rubbing wear here and there. No age discoloration. Overall, a very attractive example of this classic cover, grade it Excellent (EX), obviously better than your typical VG+ covers.
The vinyl is also in very nice condition, still retains much of its original shine and luster. Does have some very faint hairlines from taking the vinyl out of the original paper inner sleeve a few times. Also has couple light marks at the end of 2nd track, Side One, but they are light, and do NOT affect the quality of the playback, no pops or skips. Labels are clean.
Play-Tested: This is a very nice sounding record, very rich clear fidelity when played in mono mode, as it should be. Nice bass, and the highs and mid-range sound clear, not audiophile perfect, but none of these originals are. Grade the vinyl Very Good Plus (VG+) visually and Excellent for playback.
