Description
This is a fine original U.S. pressing copy (the Columbia House Terre Haute pressing per the runout #s) of a 1970 LP by Booker T. and the M.G.'s. The interracial group were the house band for the Memphis Stax label, but also released several mostly instrumental LPs under their own name, starting with 1962's Green Onions. Melting Pot was their last LP before a six-year hiatus, and features eight group compositions, two of which exceed the eight minute mark. M.G., for the record, stands for "Memphis Group." The jacket is in fine overall condition with light creasing and/or wear in the corners, a little splitting in and some wear on the bottom seam, and light ring, spine, and edge wear -- EX(+). The disc has some light scraping, scuffing, and loss of glossiness, and plays with some light surface noise -- EX(+).
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
