2004, Japan, DIWPhalanx PXLP-1111
Here is a beautiful original copy of Boris' classic "Feedbacker" LP. Musically, I don't think this record needs any introduction; it's a huge, monumental slab of sludgy droning doom, blissful, huge and bottom-heavy. This is my spare copy I picked up when I was living in Japan when the record came out. This is in beautiful shape. It's been played once, and the vinyl is a lustrous NM. There is the tiniest of minuscule spindle marks on the label from the time it's been played that I had to strain hard to find, and the sleeve is also clean and like-new with the exception of two tiny dings from shipping the collection from Osaka to Portland (see photos: you can see two small ones along the top seam and a small corner ding on the lower left corner), so I dropped the grade to an EX to err on the conservative side. The poster has no pinholes or tape residue and has been kept folded up inside the sleeve. This is not a reissue nor an inferior picture disc which people have been overpaying for; this is a real, Japanese original. Nothing beats Japanese vinyl and ultra-thick sleeves; this is absolutely the best version of this record around, and a nice chance at an essentially unplayed stock copy. Only 500 of these were made, and long disappeared into people's collections. You know how rare this is!
Please check out my other auctions; more will be up soon.
Grading (cover/record): NM / EX / VG+ / VG / VG- / G / F / P
NM - Like new. I don't use "mint." Record should look like you bought it new yesterday and be free of flaws and defects.
EX - A record that is otherwise NM but may have some hairlines or other small inconsequential blemishes; pristine sleeve with a ding, etc.
VG+ / VG / VG- - Should really mean "very good" and this range of grades has been given a bad reputation by unscrupulous sellers. Various degrees of scuffs, scratches and other minor problems and signs of wear and noise, but even a VG- record shouldn't skip or be warped or anything like that. Basically decent used records.
G - This is where bigger issues like deep scratches, mild warps and small sticks can occur.
F - Bigger problems here; warps, skips, sticks, totally split seams, etc.
P - Completely hammered, unusable garbage. I hope I never have anything in this shape.
Shipping:
International bidders, please note that due to chargeback and mail problems, any records over $100 I must insist on shipping via registered international priority mail; this works out to $25-30, but it is for both my and your protection. Please consider this when bidding, but the high value of the Euro should make this a negligible difference on a valuable LP. US bidders, over $100 LPs get shipped domestic priority for the same reasons. Bidders in Portland, Oregon or European bidders who will be attending the Utrecht record fair in November 2009 can make arrangements to pick their records up in person.
Please disregard eBay's flat $4 shipping rate; it is impossible to mail a record anywhere but inside the USA via media mail only for $4. Please see the rough shipping costs below:
USA: Media Mail $4 for first 4-5 LPs / Priority Mail $8, $2 each subsequent LP; multiple LPs or heavy gatefolds may count as two LPs
Canada/Mexico: $8 first record, $2 each subsequent; multiple LPs or heavy gatefolds may count as two LPs
International: $12-15 for a single LP; $25-30 for priority mail for LPs over $100. Due to the high cost of sending records internationally, I weigh every international package and quote an accurate cost based on the weight and the US Portal Service postage calculator.
All records are shipped in sturdy mailers with cardboard stiffener pads (laid against the grain of the mailer's cardboard). While I make every effort through solid packing to make sure your LPs arrive in the condition they leave my house in, I cannot be held responsible for any extreme actions on the part of the post office.
* Please read the above and do not bid if you do not agree. Please contact me if you have zero feedback and do not bid if you have negative feedback; I will cancel your bids. Payment is due within five days, as I will be leaving for Europe of the 5th of November. *** PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME MONEY UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN INVOICE! *** Thanks and happy bidding! *
