****************************************************************

These are all early pressings bought in the UK in the 1970s.  Although these were all bought in the UK a couple are Dynaflex pressings, pressed in Canada, but sold in the UK around 1973. Some are first pressings, including a couple (Pin Ups, Diamond Dogs) which are hard to find as genuine first UK pressings. None are modern reissues.

These are all records that I have duplicates of, so please be aware that there will be issues on these copies that might mean they are in a lower condition than some collectors may want. However, all the discs play and these could make a very good starter collection for someone.

I've summarized below the main points, so please ensure you read the description and look at the photos for further information.

SPACE ODDITY: 1E/1E matrix (first RCA pressing). Titanic Publishing credits (Not Mainman). Vinyl grading: around VG on both sides, maybe just under - quite a lot of surface marks and hairlines etc, but nothing bad or feelable. Cover: general signs of wear and age including creases, edge-wear, ring-wear etc, and a small (one-inch) spine split. Inner sleeve: typical signs of age and use, including a tear/split in the centre of the bottom seam.

THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD: Dynaflex pressing. Vinyl grading: side one Ex / side two VG+, or better. Black marker at the top of the labels. Cover: Fair only - lots of signs of wear and age including creases, bad edge-wear, ring-wear, edge splits etc.

HUNKY DORY: Dynaflex pressing. Vinyl grading: VG on both sides, maybe slightly better. Some surface marks and hairlines etc, but nothing major anywhere. Cover: lots of signs of wear and age including creases, edge-wear, ring-wear, corner splits etc, and 'JAN' written on the rear.

ZIGGY STARDUST: 1E/2E matrix. Heavy, solid vinyl. Titanic Publishing credits (Not Mainman). Vinyl grading: around VG on both sides, maybe just under. Surface marks and hairlines etc, but nothing bad. Cover: lots of signs of wear and age including creases, edge-wear, ring-wear, sticker removal marks etc. Inner sleeve: a bit of a disaster - poor condition.

ALADDIN SANE: 3T/3T matrix. Single sleeve with lyric sheet. Vinyl grading: around VG on both sides. Surface marks and hairlines etc. Cover: signs of wear and age, creases, edge-scuffs etc. Insert: typical signs of handling and use, including a small (1cm) edge tear.

PIN UPS: 1T/1T matrix. Rare UK 1st press (Hard to find as a true first UK press. Most copies from 1973 are French or Canadian pressings and later UK pressings have higher matrix numbers). Vinyl grading: VG+ on both sides. Cover: lots of signs of wear and age, mainly at the opening edge. Insert: typical signs of age, handling and use, but it's also been folded in half.

DIAMOND DOGS: A1/B1 Matrix, like most copies, BUT no 'Bewitched' credit on the side one label. True 1st UK press and extremely hard to find.  Vinyl grading: around VG on both sides, maybe just under. Lots of surface marks and hairlines etc, but nothing bad. Cover: generally sound, but has signs of wear and age including a sticker removal tear on the front, a damp mark at the rear opening and some writing above and around the track listing.

DAVID LIVE: 1E/1E/1E/1E Matrix. Wrong dates inside the gatefold. True 1st UK press. Vinyl grading: VG- on all four sides. Well-played with lots of surface marks and hairlines etc. Side 1 and 2 labels say 'Bert'.  Cover: lots of signs of wear and age including creases, edge-wear, ring-wear etc. Inner sleeves: various signs of age and use, including splits, sellotape etc, and some pictures stuck on.

YOUNG AMERICANS: 1E/3E Matrix. Vinyl grading: side one VG / side two VG+. Cover: generally sound, with some signs of wear and age including creases, edge-wear, ring-wear etc.

I have tried my best to summarize the main points, but there might be some other small detracting issues that I've not mentioned above. I've shown all the spines in the last photo, some are okay, others aren't. All photographs are of the actual items for sale. Please look at the photos and ask any questions before you bid. Everything included is shown in the photos, so please don't ask if something else is included. If it isn't shown, it's not included.

Where gradings are given these are based on the UK Record Collector grading system (see below) and are visual gradings only.

I use the UK RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM. This grading system differs from some other grading systems, in particular the Goldmine grading system. Please make sure that you are familiar with the UK record collector grading system before you bid.

Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

Plus (+) or Minus (-) are added where items fall between gradings. I only ever use one plus or minus.
