Description
This is another sale from a my collection of classical records, which includes early stereo rarities on Decca, Columbia, HMV and RCA.
UK 1968 pressing HMV ASD 2401, Brahms Symphony No.1 in C Minor, Op.68 performed by Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Sir John Barbirolli. EMI ASD 2nd series label, "semi-circle". It has the original inner. The date code on the back cover in the bottom right hand corner is 6810 TPS has "Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents Pending" next to it. KT tax code is stamped on side 2. The matrix numbers engraved on the run-out are 2YVH 9077 6G & 2YVH 9078 1G.
Grading
Visually graded the vinyl under a task lamp. Would visually grade as near Mint. It plays on my Linn Sondek with no skips or jumps however there are crackles in places on both sides. The sleeve is in VG condition, there is some ring wear on front sleeve. Timings of the each band is written in pencil on the rear sleeve (see photo). The inner is slightly discoloured due to age.
Note that record will be posted in a cardboard record mailer. Record and inner sleeve will be in a card sleeve.
