Description
This is an auction for a rare LP, Brahms- Violin Concerto In D Major, OP. 77- Oistrakh- Klemperer.
This was released by Columbia Records in 1961 and has catalogue number SAX2411. This is the first pressing with a silver and turquoise label, sometimes referred to as T/S.
Condition- The sleeve is pictured below on supersize, I have given you close ups off all and any faults on this sleeve and is given a grading of VG.
Both labels are clean and look new, there is no wear to the centre hole whatsoever and only a few tiny spider spindle trails seen under the strongest of lights.
The vinyl appears near mint and maintains its new shine, Under closer examination three feather scratches can be seen on side 2, these are completely non-audible. There are also a few small dust/dirt marks these will lift once given a clean.
I have played this through both sides and was surprised to find it actually plays worse than it appears. Some feckling can be heard at the beginning of both sides and again in places mostly at the records quietest moments. There is not a consistant tick or click indicating as stated above that the feather scratches are non-audible and not causing any surface noise. I suspect some may be caused by dust or dirt in the grooves. Much of this record does play clear and sound fine.
As this stands a grading of VG is correct, put this one on a cleaning machine may see it play near mint.
