It's late-August 2025 and the blackberries have long-since over-ripened, many clutching to branches for dear life as rot sets in to those that haven't been snaffled by birds now fattened on the bumper early crop. It's late-August 2025, and councils are warning people about sitting beneath trees starved of water and no longer 100% capable of supporting their own branches. It's late-August 2025 and everyone is wondering if autumn has arrived early given all the brown leaves ready to fall. It's late-August 2025 and Brenda - AKA Surprise Chief, Karate Boogaloo, The Pro-Teens and The Cactus Channel's Hudson Whitlock - has just dropped Bath Time and we're back in the sticky heat of midsummer. Across 10 tracks, this is pure downtempo joy made for 10pm garden drinks on a Sunday and mentally escaping the oppressive air of a cramped July train/underground/tram/bus. Cinematically styled aural beauty which don't follow genre suit yet sounds timelessly familiar. Appropriately titled soothing vibes to fill the mind. Just add bubbles.
