BRIAN AUGER, JULIE DRISCOLL & Trinity “Open” UK Marmalade MONO lp!

1967/UK/Marmalade 607 002….. here’s a clean original UK pressing of  this rare lp. The thin fragile cover is in nice VG+ to VG++ condition, light ring wear at the top on the front, top and bottom on back, light wear on bottom seam, handful of light handling creases, light corner bumps/wear, Campus Records sticker top right corner, overall clean and solid with  no splits, writing or other issues. The vinyl is in Excellent condition with a few very light small inaudible scuffs on side one. Side two is closer to M- and only has a couple of super light inaudible hairlines The labels are clean and only have a couple of very light spindle marks. The MONO record plays clean with little noise. A great copy for your collection! Please check my auctions for other rock and psych lp’s, good luck and thanks for looking!

Brian's group, The Trinity, encapsulated that odd period of time in the late 60s when mod was getting a little flowery and jazz, blues and rock musicians found a common ground in the happening London scene at subterranean clubs like The Cromwellian where mop tops and jazzers alike mingled in fab and groovy Lord Byron shirts. Straddling jazz, rhythm & blues, folk, gospel and pop with great aplomb, it may have confused the less open-minded of the time, and may still be causing some confusion all these years later. Brian's stated intention had always been to overlay souland funk rhythms with jazz harmonies and solos and all three of these recording are packed with this very individual approach. Open contains a slightly odd mixture of Mod R&B, folk and pop cover versions. Donovan's ''Season Of The Witch'' gets Auger's bluesy Hammond organ licks all over it whilst Julie Driscoll, the seminal 60s hippy chick, sings with a stoned, disjointed charm to great effect.

MINT: as stated with no defects

M- OR NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much

VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition, I also play grade the records on high end equipment and will give an honest play grade as well as visual grade, considering the number of records I buy on line my grading is very conservative and fair.

AIR POSTAGE TO USA IS $10 ...OR $8 SURFACE IF THE PACKAGE WEIGHS LESS THAN 500 GRAMS(one regular weight pressing).........USA AIR POSTAGE FROM 500 GRAMS TO 1 KILO IS $15 AND SURFACE MAIL IS $12(usually 1-3 lp’s depending on individual weight), I can also send heavier packages to the USA by expedited surface mail, this option includes a tracking number and free insurance up to $100 for $15 to $20 depending on weight, insurance over $100 is $1.00 for each additional hundred dollars.

INTERNATIONAL AIR POSTAGE(depending on destination) UNDER 500 grams is $17 to $20(one regular weight lp), OVER 500 grams is $30 to $36(usually up to 3 lp’s depending on individual weight), SURFACE MAIL IS AVAILABLE OVERSEAS for  $12(500 grams) $15 (500 - 1000 g),OVERSEAS AIR POSTAGE BETWEEN 1000g AND 2000g (usually between 3 and 6 lp’s depending on individual weight) is $49 to $55.

IN CANADA..POSTAGE IS $7 IN Ontario and Quebec, $10 elsewhere in Canada.
