BRITTEN - Peter Grimes (Decca STEREO SKL2150 Box set triple LP 1959)

The original recording of this marvellous opera in it's entirety, in an absolutely delightful box-set package. It includes a 10 page Libretto & even a newspaper clipping about Sir Peter Pears, just after he died. This is a really nice item in such lovely condition. It has the original black Decca wideband stereo labels & original Decca Stereo inner sleeves.

Strict grading

Box Sleeve: box set is still sturdy & strong. The gold writing on the spine has faded, but only everso slightly. The only slight defect being a slight tear at the top right hand corner to the box. This barely detracts from the over-all condition of this stunning sleeve. EX Condition. Vinyl 1:  a couple of light sleeve removal scuffs when observed under strong light, but you can tell this record has hardly been played. It still has that new gleam to it. EX+ Condition, Vinyl 2: Likewise, barely played, just a couple of incredibly faint sleeve removal scuffs, when inspected closely. EX+ Condition. Vinyl 3: Stunning & virtually unplayed NEAR MINT Condition. Over-all all the records have virtually no spindle marks, are all appear unplayed. The audio quality is like new. Libretto is in mint condition.
