Description
1 brand new copy of the classic "As Thick As Blood" VINYL LP collection of all of Brotherhood's recorded songs, released on Crucial Response Records.
This copy is one of a handful that came with a folded poster in addition to the lyric sheet. See the photo below.)
Recorded in late 1988 in Seattle, WA, these 11 songs were the soundtrack to the creation of the NW Straight Edge scene. Brotherhood were one of a handful of early bands that formed the foundation of the Northwest all ages Punk and Hardcore music community that still thrives today. Older, recent, and current NW bands like Undertow, Strain, Trial, and Champion all have a root that extends back to the influence that this band had on the early scene.
Members of this band went onto to many other influential and inspiring projects as well:
Nate Mendel, who played bass on this recording, Also played in Christ On A Crutch and Galleon's Lap, went on to form Sunny Day Real Estate, and later became an original member of the Foo Fighters.
Greg Anderson, guitarist and songwriter, later formed Galleon's Lap with Nate (who's LP is possibly the best and most underrated "emo" HC record of all time), played guitar and sang in Engine Kid, and now plays in Goatsnake and SUNN and runs Southern Lord Records out of Los Angeles.
Ron Guardipee teamed up with Sunny Day Real Estate's Dan Hoerner to form the HC band Resolution, which was the most direct HC descendant of Brotherhood, and ran Overkill Records which released records by Resolution as well as Undertow and Strain. Ron also spent much of the mid-90's touring as a road manager for Seaweed and Orange 9MM.
Maximum Rock and Roll described these songs as "better than 99% of Straight Edge HC out there today" when they reviewed this record. They weren't exagerating all that much.
Brotherhood did one US tour, with The Accused. If you saw it, it means you're old.

The Deal
