BRUCE PALMER---THE CYCLE IS COMPLETE

Bass Guitar player Bruce Palmer came from Canada, and met Neil Young upon joining a band in the U.S. When this fell apart, Palmer and Young headed to California hoping to hook up with Steve Stills who Young knew from a few years earlier. They found him, a story for another time, and the trio evolved into the Buffalo Springfield who is part of Rock history not only for its personnel, but the classic record 'For What It's Worth'. Unfortunately, Palmer fell into a very bad drug habit, was arrested numerous times for this, with a final arrest having him deported back to Canada, ending his association with the group. He snuck back into the States and briefly was with CSNY, but the arrests started again. Back to Canada. In 1971 he recorded this LP, his only solo album with remnants of the L.A. Psychedelic group Kaleidoscope, that featured very long tracks and featuring Rick Matthews on Vocals. The album failed to sell, in large part due to the reputation he now had in the music biz, and Palmer appeared to retire from music. The LP is now very scarce. He returned in the early 1980's and again joined up with Neil Young, but it was the same old drug-drinking nonsense that brought this to an end. Palmer died in 2004 in Canada.
