Bruckner: Symphony No.5 in B major
rare German first press vinyl 2LP set released in the 1950s on deep groove DECCA labels with catalognumber LXT 5255 and LXT 5256-H.
Beautiful laminated top-open covers, and vinyl all in pristine NEARMINT/MINT condition - perfect!
Famous performance by Knappertsbusch conducting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra recorded with true audiophile soundquality, same as the UK LXT 5255/56 counterpart pressings ... see photos.
Note the beautiful laminated covers with fantastic photo artwork showing a picture of the orchestra with Walter Barylli as concertmaster, Otto Strasser (2 violins), Ernst Moraweg and Rudolf Streng (violas first desk), Alfred Boskowski, Leoplold Wlach and other well known players of the post war era of the professors. Brass players out of sight; conductor not identifiable - probably not a Decca artist ...
