THIS IS NOT THE SAME COPY OF 'MR. SOUL' I HAD LISTED ON EBAY LAST WEEK - THAT COPY HAS BEEN SOLD, THIS IS A DIFFERENT SECOND COPY, THE LAST ONE I HAVE CURRENTLY. This is an original 1965 U.S. Peacock Records PROMO 45 RPM record containing the 'Northern Soul' tunes titled 'Mr. Soul'/'Let Me Love You' from Bud Harper. It is Peacock Records catalog number 1939. 'Mr. Soul' is a nice mid-tempo dancer with a hard bouncy shuffling beat and fat horns, 'Let Me Love You' is a smooth midtempo dancer. Condition of this record is a mid to high VG with some surface marks which cannot be felt and will not affect play, and three or four light surface scratches which can be felt and which may cause some slight ticks, no skips. Record plays through very nicely with some light scattered surface noise and the aforementioned slight ticks. There is also a white discolored area in the play surface on the B-side, this is cosmetic only and also has no effect on play. Both labels have some contact wear as can be seen in my accompanying image, no other real flaws. This rare 45 would be a choice addition to any 'Northern Soul' 45 record collection!
