Here is an EXCELLENT! copy of the LP from BUD POWELL titled BUD! THE AMAZING BUD POWELL VOL. 3. It is an US pressing on the “47 WEST 63rd” BLUE NOTE label, catalog #BLP 1571 in MONO sound. The LP was originally released in 1957. The DEEP GROOVE vinyl is in EXCELLENT PLUS / EXCELLENT! condition, shiny and black, with a couple of non-sounding marks and should have excellent playback. The vinyl has RVG (RUDY VAN GELDER) INITIALS and an EAR IN THE DEADWAX! The cover is in EXCELLENT MINUS / VERY GOOD PLUS! condition with a half inch top seam split, three inch plus bottom seam split, small corner paper loss bottom right corner, light surface/dirt wear rear cover, wear to corners and edges. Bud Powell's playing in the late '50s (just prior to his move to Paris) found the troubled pianist in erratic form, often struggling to make it through songs he had written. However, his three Blue Note recordings from the era (which include the slightly later Time Waits and The Scene Changes) feature Powell in surprisingly inspired form…. Bud! (which is subtitled The Amazing Bud Powell, Vol. 3) has five trio performances with bassist Paul Chambers and drummer Art Taylor (highlighted by "Bud on Bach" and "Some Soul") and three standards on which the group is joined by trombonist Curtis Fuller. This strong bop set is well worth getting.
