INFORMATION ABOUT EACH TITLE
I WAS WALKING THRU THE WOODS - COLLECTORS TREMENDOUSLY RARE MCA AUDIOPHILE PRESSING FROM THE MID-90'S DECADES OUT OF PRINT AND REMASTERED BY KEVIN GRAY - ITEM STILL SEALED BUT THE PLASTIC WRAP IS COMING APART WHERE YOU OPEN THE LP BUT IT'S STILL SEALED AND IN PRISTINE COLLLECTORS CONDITION.
This album, originally issued as Chess CH 409, includes the seminal - The First Time I Met The Blues, the opening line of which gives the LP its title. A fiercely intense and powerful song, it typifies Guy's ferocious attack and, when first released, drew comparisons to the work of the young Robert Johnson. ]
Though Junior Wells plays a subsidiary role on most of the album, his sensitive support can be heard (to good advantage on songs like - I Got A Strange Feeling - (a Willie Dixon song which Guy later re-arranged and re-recorded).
The albums reception solidified Guy's reputation as a first-rate guitarist and singer, and freed him from earlier comparisons to B.B. King. It draws material from several different sessions recorded between 1960 and 1964, and while Kings influence can be heard in certain places, it's undeniable that Buddy guy, both as a singer and as a guitarist, established himself on this album as one of Chicago's premier - and most unique - modern bluesmen.
Music critic, Michael Fremer, editor of The Tracking Angles and contributing editor for Stereophile, said about this MCA Heavy Vinyl re-mastered from the Original Analog Tapes (with no noise suppression or bass roll-off) that music erupts out of total silence from these thick 180 Gram Virgin Vinyl discs with a velvety smoothness, spaciousness, and ultra high resolution that stuns even the most committed CD die-hard.
Slash-and-burn guitar solos are the specialty of this Chicago blues mainstay. Emerging in the late '60s, Buddy Guy staked his claim with a series of string-sizzlin sides for Chess. I Was Walking Through The Woods collects his best known hailstones and firestorms like "My Time After Awhile" and "Stone Crazy".- Art Direction [Reissue] – Vartan (4)

Junior Wells Coming At You 180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE LP + BUDDY GUY
The Chicago blues vocalist, harmonica player, and recording artist, Junior Wells was one of the pioneers of the amplified blues harp-style associated with Chicago. His signature songs was "Messin' With the Kid' and his 1965 album, Hoodoo Man Blues, was described by Bill Dahl as 'one of the truly classic blues albums of the 1960s."
One of the great electric blues albums of the ‘60s, this gem features harmonica player and singer Junior Wells at his finest. With fellow Chicago musician Buddy Guy on lead guitar, Coming At You showcases the two fiery musician’s talents in the studio, as they play a selection of blues standards. Back on vinyl for the first time in over 40 years, this 50th anniversary reissue was cut from the original analog master, pressed on 180-gram vinyl, and comes housed in a tip-on jacket.
"Another eminently solid outing by the legendary harpist that captures his trademark barroom bravado in a studio setting. The band is quite tight -- Buddy Guy and Lefty Dizz are the guitarists, Douglas Fagan plays sax, and Clark Terry, believe it or not, occupies a third of the trumpet section -- and the set list is dominated by oldies from both Sonny Boys, Willie Dixon, and John D. Loudermilk (Junior invests his "Tobacco Road" with a lights-out toughness that the Nashville Teens could never even imagine)." - allmusic

BUDDY GUY STONE CRAZY 2012 ALLIGATOR RECORDS 4723 STEREO OUT OF PRINT LP - THIS TITLE DOESN'T HAVE A MARKETING STICKER
Legendary release from the internationally renowned blues icon
"His frantic and frenzied best...savage guitar and fiery vocals." — Rolling Stone
This was the one. This was the album that fans had been waiting for — the album that finally captured the raw, almost-out-of-control guitar genius of Buddy Guy. It's simply Buddy and his own touring band — no studio musicians, no 'special guests" — just the solid skin-tight backing of brother Phil and one of Chicago's hottest young rhythm sections. The tunes were cut in a studio in France, but they feel just like the last smoky set at the Checkerboard Lounge, Buddy's own club in the heart of Chicago's South Side.
Recorded Oct. 31, 1979, and originally released in France on Isabel Records, Stone Crazy is filled with powerful, spontaneous performances, frenzied vocals and incredible guitar.
Buddy's previous album, recorded with longtime partner Junior Wells, was an all-star jam featuring Eric Clapton, Dr. John and the J. Geils Band, but not really a guitar showcase. In fact, it was 14 years since the classic album, A Man And The Blues, when Buddy, inspired by the late keyboard wizard Otis Spann, really let go in the studio. It was longer since his wildman guitar and manic vocals were first heard on those great Chess 45s like "The First Time I Met The Blues," "My Time After Awhile" and "Stone Crazy."
It's his frenzied live performances that have made Buddy legendary. First, during his years of residency at Theresa's in Chicago, taking on every guitar player who passed through the Windy City. Then more than a decade on the road with Junior, barnstorming through the U.S., Japan and Africa, and touring Europe with the Rolling Stones. He devastated the Montreux Jazz Festival, with the Stones sitting in. He's won the admiration of everyone who ever tried to pick the blues on guitar, from B.B. King to Eric Clapton. And always the question — "When will Buddy really cut loose like those blazing nights on the bandstand, and get crazy again on a record?'
Here's the answer.

1. I Smell a Rat
2. Are You Losing Your Mind?
3. You've Been Gone Too Long
Side B

2. Outskirts of Town
