This listing is for a 78 by Buddy Holly doing his mega hit, "Peggy Sue" b/w "Everyday". Just a little history about Peggy Sue for those who didn't know. The song was originally titled "Cindy Lou" but Buddy's friend and drummer, Jerry Allison was in love with Peggy Sue Gerron and asked Buddy to change the title in an attempt to win his sweetheart over. Buddy said he would do that if he could do a paradiddle on his drums (the drum roll that opens the song). Jerry agreed, but when they did the first take, Jerry's drums were too loud and pegged the meters, so they moved him and his drums out in the hall. The result was a kind of echo to the drum sound, everybody liked it, so it went to press. Jerry did win over his girl friend because of the record. On a sad note, Peggy Sue Gerron passed away in 2018 at the age of 78. She never stopped loving Buddy, and she was my friend for over 25 years. This record is now a tribute to her. The labels on this copy are M- and the vinyl is nearly M. Don't miss out on this great disc.
