Condition: Cover: VG the front textured cover retains much of the original beatiful glossy color quality. the condition issues, however, require detailed description: a previous owner wrote his name and address on the front cover in blue ball point ink located just below 'chirping' and above buddy holly's portrait (the writing extends 3 inches across and 1 1/2 inches down), this pen ink has faded over time - but is clearly visible, the front textured cover has line seperation and discoloration (whitening) along the lines, there are crease marks along all four of the corners, there is old (rust colored) tape residue along the spine and both seams from a very old tape repair job with a few pieces of the old tape remaining, the bottom seam is entirely split, and there is a split up the spine that goes about 2/3rd up from the bottom, there is a 4 inch split to the top seam, there is a one inch tear to the back cover along the bottom seam, there is light age toning and light staining to the back cover. seperation cut corner, light crowning, light age toning, light edge wear to spine and seams, sticker residue on back cover, previous owner's name hand written on back cover. after all the age and wear this cover has been through -- and its clearly been through a lot -- it still looks great.

Condition: Vinyl: P this is Not a playable copy.  We did sound test and you can barely hear the first two cuts (Oh, Boy! and That'll Be The Day) of each side under the heavy heavy surface noise.  the inside cuts are audible with of course heavy surface noise. and the surface noise is consistent, it doesn't include your pops, skips, and crackles often found with deep scuff marks, etc.. the vinyl is fully intact no cracks, no chips, no deep scuff marks.  lots of hairline and surface markings to both sides.  heavy wear to the original glossy sheen (the black vinyl has been worn down to an almost grey sheen). hairline and surface markings to both sides heavy pressing vinyl. heavy wear to original glossy sheen. heavy surface noise.  because there are no deep scuffs to this vinyl, it is possible that with the right expertise and cleaning technology this vinyl can be retrieved and restored.  And it certainly belongs in safe and loving hands.

We Visually Grade all our vinyl records according to GOLDMINE GRADING STANDARDS.  The following Grades are applied to both the LP Cover and Vinyl:

SS STILL SEALED Record is still in original wraps; with or without original or later price tags, price tag marks, or retail stickers.

M-/NM MINT MINUS / NEAR MINT Used condition, but with no obvious visible wear to the vinyl or cover.

VG+ VERY GOOD PLUS Only light signs of visible wear to either the vinyl or the cover, including light crowning, creasing, bending, staining price tags, remainder marks, edge wear and or age toning to the cover, and light hairline or surface markings to the vinyl.

VG VERY GOOD Light to moderate visible wear to either the vinyl or the cover, including crowning, creasing, bending, staining, price tags, remainder marks, edge wear and/or age toning to the cover, and light to moderate wear, hairline and surface markings (no deep scratching) to the vinyl.

G GOOD Not good. Heavy Wear and Damage to the Cover, including fully split seams, water damage, creasing, tearing staining to the cover. Heavy wear to the vinyl, scratching and/or warping sufficient to cause skips and/or adversely affecting the sound quality.  Not generally viable commercially, unless the item is considered a rare or collector's item.
