Description

BUDDY HOLLY LP ST 1964, on the US CORAL RECORDS LABEL.  This is the SECOND PRESSING from 1964 on the COLORBAND labels CAT #CRL57201.  AN ESSENTIAL ROCK AND ROLL RECORD, and this album in wonderful condition.  This debut opened the eyes of the Rock & Roll world, and after his untimely and tragic death there was a bigger demand for his records.  A number of post humous recordings were released into the early 60s, and that generated more interest in this one, his debut from 1958.  It is the first of just 2 records released during his lifetime.  Buddy Holly's real name was Holley, but Decca misspelled his name on the first release, and he became widely known thereafter as Holly.  This copy is the rarer no credits on the labels pressing.

COVER  EX because of a strip of protective scotch tape along the bottom seam.  The owner bought this upon release, and yes, he bought numerous copies of the original pressing as well.  He has a habit of neatly putting scotch tape around seams and spine.  This one, only the bottom seam.  There is no split or any issue with the bottom seam, but this was done for protection.  The cover otherwise is in amazing shape, with just slight wear.  back cover has slight toning, but overall a beautiful shade of white.  the back bottom right corner has a 1.5" light bend.  I's not visible on the front.  All seams and spine are perfect.  Although this is a second pressing, The sound quality is more refined than the first pressing.  This is a fantastic copy from a single owner.  I bought a large part of his collection years ago.  He knew the best music of the time, and bought numerous copies of the great ones. He took great care of his beloved records.  Finding a pristine playing copy of this from this era is very difficult.

VINYL  EX - Vinyl has great gloss, no spindle marks, and is in fantastic shape, but does have a bit of visual rash from the inner.  That does not effect play at all.  Plays Near mint.  The audio is pristine.
OG inner - Looks beautiful front and back.  some expected folds, and the outline a bit from the record, which lived in it for 60+ years.
