Description

 

We are a shop/record label located in West Wickham, Kent, dealing in most styles from the 50's, 60s, 70s and early 80s. All the records / cds listed on ebay are fully guaranteed as to the conditions described.  We use professional packing with reinforcements added , and the discs are separated from the sleeves to avoid seam splitting, in the case of E.P.'s and L.P.'s.

Legendary UK issue of one of the most important recordings of the last 60 years. Both sides are pure rockabilly and would have fallen on deaf ears in the UK, when it was released in 1956. It's fair to say that once Peggy Sue and That'll Be The Day had great success in '57 people who liked these two may have noticed this in a catalogue and tried to order it. Of the Holly fans I've spoken to over the years, this was generally the case, and several attempts would sometimes have to be made to find a copy, with one guy waiting till 1961 to find one. How many were pressed is anyone's guess, but UK Decca (who pressed the Brunswick label) were  contractually obliged to press a quantity as part of a deal for the rights to Bing Crosby, etc who were huge sellers for them. It certainly happened with a whole host of other artists that U.S. labels were keen to push. An initial batch would be pressed and samples sent to America to prove the record was out. Promotion was rarely carried out, and great records fell by the wayside. This is a great copy, and I've put full recordings of both sides on the player, so you can check out it's sound.
