BUDDY LUCAS
Luniverse 45rpm (1957)
Buddy Lucas cut a huge string of records reaching back to 1951's release of "Soppin' Molasses" on Jubilee. That was followed by five more for Jubilee, then he moved over to RCA and Groove, and one at Savoy. In 1956 he's at the Bell Records label (who did those 7-inch 78rpms with picture sleeves) and is there for seven releases.
Then he's at Luniverse in 1957 for one, and only one release before heading out to Gone and many other labels thru the mid '60s. This is cool to see on Luniverse Records, which is a label that was started up by Buchannan & Goodman for their 'Flying Saucer' break-in records. This was the 4th release on the label, and the first that wasn't a Buchanan & Goodman platter. The songs have Buddy's original song "Bo-Lee" on the top and a remake of "Star Dust" is on the flip.
