Description
I will declare a lower amount on the customs form for all countries so as to avoid/decrease high import charges. However, in the case of the EU all purchases are subject to VAT which eBay collect at point of sale. No shipping to Russia currently.
Budgie : Squawk 1L / 1L 1st Press 1972 MCA Blue / Black Hexagon Labels
This first pressing plays with superb audio and there are no clicks or pops and no background static either. The only intrusion, if you can call it that, are a couple of very minor ticks and a handful of even quieter statics. A minimal amount of inner groove distortion on the final track also but it's certainly not intrusive, still a great listen. This album production wise is not their strongest in my opinion but overall the sonic quality here is very impressive. The vinyl itself is clean with just some sleeve removal hairlines.
The cover is in very good condition with only a little shelf wear, mainly some ringwear. The original poly-lined inner sleeve is in excellent shape with very little wear. It is dated 7-72 and stamped R.S. (Robert Stace).
This is a genuine first press as denoted by the matrix info and the blue / black hexagon MCA labels.

Visual description
The vinyl is in very good to excellent condition, somewhere in between I would say. This is because it has a fair amount of wispy sleeve removal hairlines but they are purely superficial as they have no affect on the audio. There are no marks or scratches and no groove or surface wear either. The blue / black hexagon MCA labels are very clean with only minimal spindle wear.
Play Grading
The intro on 'Whisky River' plays perfectly with not even a dust tick and Shelley's opening vocal section is just as strong. The instrumental bridge is flawless and the next vocal again has no intrusion. The mid instrumental is rich and deep with and it continues to play with great depth and clarity. The long fade out is basically perfect with only a couple of barely audible statics. A Mint- version.
The percussive intro on 'Rocking Man' has just one mega quiet tick and Bourge's first introduction has only a couple of minor statics, hardly noticeable. The first vocal section has no intrusion and from then on it plays to superb standard with no interference. The brief 'pause' is 100% silent and the following instrumental is stunning with Bourge very much at the helm of course. A couple of minor statics towards the end of this section but nothing intrusive. The final vocal section / instrumental has no background and Near Mint is well deserved. There is just a hint of light static right at the end.
The acoustic 'Rolling Home Again' plays beautifully and the audio separation is stunning. Each note so clean and precise. Just two minor statics on the fade out. Mint-
The acoustic intro on 'Make Me Happy' plays with exceptional clarity and the opening vocal is equal to that. This clarity of sound / definition is prevalent throughout, it really is a wonderful version. Just proving they could do gentle numbers as well as the standard classic Budgie rockers! Mint-
Talking of which the classic 'Hot As A Docker's Armpit' plays with real quality from the word go. The intro is perfect and then that first classic riff section is on the same level. Shelley's opening vocal has no interference and it continues in much the same manner. If there is any inner groove distortion it is only very minimal. The long instrumental section plays with tremendous power and depth and... no interference. The end section with Phillips very much at the forefront pounding rhythmically is superb! I have to grade this as Near Mint

The intro on 'Drugstore Woman' is close to perfect with only a couple of quiet statics and the opening vocal is indeed perfect. The instrumental section then plays with sublime quality, I 'picked up' just one barely audible tick, and the remainder plays to a very high standard. The continuous woman at the end has no background at all. Mint- is fair.
The instrumental 'Bottled' plays with impeccable quality from start to finish with no intrusion. Mint
'Young Is A World' begins so quietly and this opening section could not play any better. Shelley's first vocal plays with STUNNING clarity and warmth - in fact it is almost perfect with just one light static sound during the Only a day vocal line. The next piece from Bourge is faultless as is the next vocal section. This truly is a remarkable version! The next instrumental with Bourge in charge is loud and clean with no interference and the final acoustic section is 'as new'. I'm confident in grading this classic as Mint- such is the quality.
'Stranded' ends the album in fine style. The intro has only the bare minimum of inner groove distortion, it still sound great! The opening vocal section plays to perfection without any issues and it continues to play with very strong audio. As the powerhouse trio launch into the instrumental section there is perhaps just a little distortion but certainly no more than you would expect and I am probably doing myself a disservice by even 'putting it here'! It still plays incredibly well and Shelley's solo bass section is perfect. The rest of the track plays with phenomenal quality and the closing instrumental is stunning in fact. Overall I would say Near Mint- is an honest appraisal of the audio.
The Cover & Inner Sleeve
The cover is in very good condition with not too much shelf wear. Very good does not mean bad! It's not far off Ex- to be honest. The edges are in superb shape with no rubbing etc and the spine is very impressive with only a little corner wear and some minor compressions here and there, it remains 100% legible. The right hand corners are very clean also and the opening edge looks hardly touched. The front cover has some ringwear, mainly on the top half, a small corner corner crease bottom left and some faint spotting. However, you can only see these 'spots' when you hold the cover at a certain angle under a bright light. Most of the wear on the back cover is ringwear so obviously not a major issue. There is also some creasing near the bottom right corner. Overall though this is a respectable cover with some 'excellent' aspects.
The original poly-lined inner sleeve (dated 7-72) is in excellent condition with no side splits or tears and very little marking. It just has some glue residue showing through on some of the edges and some light creasing also.

Postage & Packaging
I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
