·       BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD – THE SAME-TITLED 1971 2-LP SET (“BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD”) - AN ANTHOLOGY OF THE GROUP'S GREATEST SONGS -  ORIGINAL 1971 ATCO RECORDS 2-LP STEREO SET SD-2-806

·       ORIGINAL U.S. PRESSING

·       ORIGINAL YELLOW ATCO LABEL WITHOUT WEA LOGO ALONG THE LABEL’S EDGE AND WITH BROADWAY, NY ADDRESS (LATE 60’s STYLE) (PLEASE NOTE: THE LABELS ARE INCONSISTENT: ONE RECORD HAS LABELS WITH BROADWAY ADDRESS, THE OTHER WITH ROCKEFELLER CENTER ADDRESS (EARLY 70’s STYLE); THIS IS A VERY COMMON SITUATION WITH THIS TITLE, WHICH CAME OUT RIGHT ON THE CUSP OF ATCO'S TRANSITION FROM ONE LABEL TO ANOTHER)

·       THIS IS THE ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC, FIRST U.S. PRESSING; THIS IS NOT A REISSUE, AN IMPORT, OR A COUNTERFEIT PRESSING.

·       THIS ALBUM INCLUDES A RARE, THERETOFORE UNRELEASED, 9-MINUTE VERSION OF “BLUEBIRD”)

·       ORIGINAL GATEFOLD COVER, MADE OF THICK CARDBOARD (AMERICAN STYLE)

·       ORIGINAL "TEXTURED" (CRUDE FINISH) COVER.

·       COVER HAS A NIFTY STICKER STILL AFFIXED TO THE WRAP.

·       CONDITION:

·       RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL  AS  NEAR MINT. Some VERY LIGHT AND SUPERFICIAL abrasions – mostly sleeve scuffs -  are (barely) visible, but are probably inaudible,  and do not affect visual integrity or beauty of the vinyl. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)          The records come in their original stock inner sleeves.

(c)           The records are pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        The gatefold cover has partially split seams on 2 out of 4 "legs" of the cover (about 5 and 8 inches / 1 inch = 2.5 centimeters).

-         Cover has some visible fraying/tattering on top and bottom seams

-         Cover has a small cutout saw-mark (an indent about 3-5 mm long ) on one of its seams.

-         Cover has three corners slightly worn / dinged (nothing significant)

-         Cover has some light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 3

-         Cover shows JUST A HINT of yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging.  Yellowing is also noted on the INSIDE gatefold

-         Inside gatefold has a few yellowish dust speckles scattered here and there (these tiny spots are not overly obtrusive or distracting)

-         Cover has a small, rectangular, sticker residue (small yellowish discoloration from the removed price sticker)

-         Cover has a TINY  peel-off mark, probably from the careless removal of the price sticker  (less than 1/16th  square inch in size).

-         Minor shelf wear noted on the spine (nothing significant)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No wrinkles or creases

-        No writing

-        No stamps

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No stickers or labels

-        No water damage

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
