What's to say? This "band" starred in a Saturday morning kids TV program. Their upbeat sound was picked up by the pre-teens and the tweens. The thing is, the songs were crafted well, rather than turned out on an assembly line. Hence, the band got wider attention than other TV pop bubblepsych bands like The Banana Splits, H.R. Puffinstuff, The Hardy Boys, Sugar Bear and The Archies (purveyors of solid gold bubblegum and credited with the #1 pop hit of 1969, "Sugar Sugar").
Wikipedia says: "Rarely in the "bubble gum genre" can be found albums that are superior to a degree that all ages can enjoy them. The Bugaloos is one of these albums. This album is loaded with catchy songs that contain happy and positive lyrics. The production is pure 60s and many of these songs lean towards pop psychedelia. If you are a fan of the short lived Krofft show, you already know these songs. If you are a fan of 60s pop and bubble gum this is definitely an album you are going to want to obtain for your collection."
Here's the deal, this genre of rock/pop for years was not collected except by a dedicated few. Bubblegum pop, bubblegum rock albums often languished in the discount bins at department stores, the stacks of LPs at thrift shops and the LP piles at garage sales, eventually disappearing when they had been there too long. Many bubblegum albums were tossed out before the present generation saw potential in the simple upbeat pop sound that was often good dance music.
