Description
From 1965, come The Byrds with their LP Mr. Tambourine Man on Columbia CS9172 360 in BLACK PRINT. This is a TRUE FIRST PRESS of the STEREO, printed in black on the bottom of the red label. The 360 STEREO pressings in white are later pressings! Extremely short-lived pressing on this label! Probably less than 3,000 or so were made with this label! In my thirty-two years of collecting, I have heard of only two other copies of this and they were over twenty years ago! This is the ONLY one I have ever had personally! Everyone I've talked to over the years has said that these do not exist (black print on bottom of red label). Here is a bona-fide one to show that it does exist! This may be your only chance on ebay to get a genuine first press stereo of this album! Notice the bottom of the label reads, "Printed in USA". RARE!! Great album that contains their first hit,Mr. Tambourine Man, though I prefer the song I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better. The LP contains twelve songs in all, with four of them being written by Bob Dylan! Bob Dylan is pictured on the rear cover with The Byrds in concert.
Cover has high spot rubs, white along seams with some roughness in spots, seam split along half of bottom seam,banged corner upper left.No other visible flaws.
Cover is VG+, record has spindle marks and looks VG minus,plays VG+ and better, while label is VG+!! Listed here due to its supreme rarity!!!
