Description

Dark red label with silver text, deep groove. 7 tracks with the remarkable Gonzales, vocalese, scat, vocals. Gonzales was one of the great originals of the Bebop era. Musicians include Johnny Griffin, tenor sax; Charlie Rouse, bass clarinet; Les Spann, glute; Horace Parlan("Pyland" on record cover), piano; Roy Haynes, drums; Ray Crawford, guitar; Peck Morrison, bass. Arranged by Melba Liston. Includes voices of the Modern Sounds (Joe Bailey, Curtis Lewis, Freeman Lee, Mamie Watts. Autograph on the front cover reads: " Get "B" All de Time Ole Babs" The music is fine, modern jazz accompaniment. Very rare original.

Cover: VG(-) to VG 2 - 1" splits on the top edge. Entire spine has split. some light aging and light soil on the front and back cover.

Record: Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. Possibly played only 1 or 2 times. 2 extremely light rub marks on Side A, barely visible. A small number of extremely light clicks on Side 1 which can be considered negligible and in the pressing, not a result of wear. No surface noise. Fine, collectible quality. Audibly checked.
