Various Babylon The Original Soundtrack
1980 Chrysalis Collectable Aswad Vinyl LP Record Very Scarce
This is a rare vinyl LP of the original soundtrack of the controversial, award-winning racism theme film Babylon.
A vinyl LP record featuring Aswad, Dennis Bovell, Cassandra and more.
A contentious film (only released in March 2019 in the USA) c40 years after it was screened in the UK.
It was filmed in Deptford, south London by Italian director Franco Rosso, who made a point of tackling sensitive issues highlighting minority groups.
Label: Chrysalis CHR 1294 (1980)
Copies of this long deleted LP are not easily found and when offered sell for in excess of £30.
Please note the “Excellent+” condition rating & see photos for track listings.
I’m a private individual listing interesting, high quality, collectable LPs from my home collection.
The vast majority, from the 1950s to 1990s, are in superb condition, many un-played.
Hopefully, they’ll go to music lovers who will appreciate them!
It’s hard to match the dynamic sound quality of vinyl LPs.

I’m happy to answer any questions & confident you’ll not be disappointed with this album!
Condition:
These LPs are graded according to Record Collector magazine
MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover, without any major defects, is acceptable
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc
A plus (+) or minus (-) indicates a borderline rating
