Description

Here is a truly rare item. The complete Bach Partitas and Sonatas for solo violin on London LLA-20 played by Emil Telmanyi using the "Vega" Bach Bow. I have 15,000 records in my collection but have never seen this one before. The box is in execellent condition with a 1 inch split in the hinge. This is a very old set. The box is l4 inches long with a fixed internal dowl with the 78 rpm style sleeves attached. The records appear uplayed with no spindle marks around the holes. They also sound unplayed with very clear clean sound and very little groove noise on my system(VPI TNT/SME IV/Benz H2 mono and commensurate electronics). The records really sound excellent however they are not flawless. These date from the earliest lp era and were packaged the same way the 78's were packaged-heavy,coarse paper that didn't do a very good job of protecting the surfaces. There are numerous marks and scuffs, some of which sound lightly. There are also occaisional scratches which sound for a few revolutions. None of them are long but a couple of nicks are rather loud. All in all, I would grade them vg++/nm-. However, if you consider their vintage(I's guess 1950 or so) I would call them nm. I would never expect or look for a better set. I think a mail order dealer would call them nm. I don't want to overstate the flaws but for records this rare I want to be as complete as possible. I guarantee the buyer will be satisfied. If you have any questions, PLEASE contact me. Will ship Priority mail or UPS at cost in USA. Overseas-cost +$5.
